ELLENDALE - Arthur Harmon, of Ellendale, died March 5, 2007, of natural causes in BayHealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 95.
He was born on May 7, 1911, in Denton, Md.
Mr. Harmon enjoyed raising rabbit dogs, entering into pony races in Lincoln and coming home with his trophies.
He enjoyed driving trucks and in his last years he bought his own truck, cut wood and contracted out of M and H in Milford.
He was preceded in death by his wife Willie Gibbs, December 1991.
He was survived by a son, Richard and his wife Mary Wright of Philadelphia; three nephews, Robert and his wife Elizabeth Pettyjohn, Amos and his wife Dorothy Harmon, Richard and his wife Artis Piper, all of Ellendale; one neice, Hortense Collins of Dover; eight grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives; and a devoted friend, Clarence Macklin.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Ellendale. Viewing will be two hours prior to service.
Interment will be in Siloam A.M.E. Church, Slaughter Neck.
