Arnold P. White, 69 MIDDLETOWN - Arnold P. White, of Middletown, died Monday, June 28, 2010, in Christiana Hospital. He was 69. Mr. White worked as a self employed carpenter. One of his favorite pastimes was playing poker. He also enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and camping. A good weekend consisted of doing all three together. Mr. White's personality was that of being laid back, the easiest going person you would ever meet. It took quite a bit to make him angry. He was very devoted and loved his family tremendously but especially adored his grandchildren who he loved to spoil. In addition to his parents, John W. and Myrtle White, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Jean; and siblings, Claude White, Edna McFarland, Roberta Hamm, June White, and Joseph White. He is survived by his loving wife or 48 years, Diana White of Middletown; daughters and sons-in-law, Christine M. and Randee Smith of Harrington, Jennifer L. Glenn of Sandtown, Rebecca L., and Chris Weiss of Middletown; grandchildren, Bryan, Rob, Nikki, James, Darien, and the twins Audry and Aidan; and brothers, James Harvey White of Newark, Roger Lee White of Newark, Billie Eugene White of Elkton, Md., Kenneth White of London, Ky., and Jack White of Newark. Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 2, 2010, at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, where a visitation will be Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
