Anthony A. Lorah

LEWES - Anthony A. Lorah passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. He was born at Beebe Hospital in Lewes on Dec. 9, 1942, son of Jean Maryann (Zelinsky) Lorah and Alvin Oliver Lorah.
Mr. Lorah worked at the Board of Public Works in Lewes for 20 years and then for the Cape Henlopen School District, at Rehoboth Elementary School, for 16 years. His hobbies in earlier years included building and flying model airplanes as well as riding motorcycles, particularly his 1972 Harley Davidson bike that he kept meticulous to this day.
He was gifted in that he could fix anything and was a painter, both interior and exterior. He loved to build backdrops/scenery for the Lewes Presbyterian Church Christmas plays as well as making things such as a "Jesus" boat for Vacation Bible School and Kids for Christ programs. He had a very kind and generous heart making friends wherever he went.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jack Lorah and Mary Ann Reynolds.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Margaret Lorah; daughter, Denise Barnes and husband Robert; son, David Lorah and wife Bobbi Jo; five grandchildren; sister, Janet Savage; brother, Alvin Lorah; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway Lewes, DE 19958. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lewes Presbyterian Church Children/Youth Ministries and sent to the address above.
