Annetta Stuart Thorns, 73

FRANKFORD - Annetta Stuart Thorns, died Friday, October 16, 2009, in her home. She was 73. She was born in Frankford and was the daughter of the late George and Mary Holton Adkins. She loved sewing, crocheting, flower gardening, fundraising for the American Heart Association and making and designing clothing for the handicapped, for which she won an award. She was a member of Dagsboro Church of Christ and was a past president of the Frankford New Century Club. She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Thorns Sr.; two sons, Robert Stuart and his wife Celine of Millsboro, and Ronald Stuart and his wife Carol of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a daughter, Gail Kersey of Frankford; six grandchildren, Jill Bathon and her husband Bill, Nathan Stuart and his wife Heather, Heather Bohn and husband Jeremy, Sarah Byrum and her husband Preston, Kristi Gamuciello, and Ryan Stuart and his wife Amber; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Dagsboro Church of Christ, Dagsboro. Mr. Ron Stuart and Mr. David Hall will be officiating. Burial will follow at Redmen's Cemetery in Selbyville. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Hastings Funeral Home, Selbyville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dagsboro Church of Christ, Building Fund, 28001 Dagsboro Rd., Dagsboro, DE 19939; Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; or to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mattlind Way, Milford, DE 19963.
