Anne Slotter Yost, 87

LEWES - Anne Slotter Yost of Lewes, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, in Beebe Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 87.

Mrs. Yost was born April 11, 1919, in Bedminster, Pa., daughter of the late Jacob L. and Anna C. Slotter.

She was a 1937 graduate of Phoenixville High School in Pennsylvania and married Robert L. Yost, a classmate, in 1939.

In 1947 they moved to Lewes, where Anne worked with generations of children in Lewes Kindergarten.

She graced each class with her love of music, love of life and the fundamentals of learning.

Mrs. Yost was a very active member of the Lewes Presbyterian Church and its Kelly Class for more than half a century.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 1998.

She is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Patricia and George Macintire of Lewes; a son and a daughter-in-law, Robert David and Jean Yost of Ardmore, Pa.; six grandchildren, Cordelia (Macintire) Winton and her husband, Graham of New York, N.Y., Meredith (Macintire) Palmer and her husband, Sean of Lewes, Jennifer (Macintire) Zerby and her husband, Jeffrey of Lewes, Jeanie (Yost) Mason and her husband, Matthew, of Mooresville, N.C., Anne Yost and her fiancé, Morgan Carroll, of New York and Lauren Yost of Ardmore; four great-grandchildren, Hannah Palmer, Ashton Palmer, Vaughn Winton and David Thomas Mason; a brother, Jacob L. Slotter Jr. and his wife, Dorothy of Pottstown, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes.

Burial will be private.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Living Stones II Sanctuary Restoration Fund, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.

Arrangements are by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
