Ann (Grover) Kidd, 91

LEWES - Ann (Grover) Kidd, formerly of Rutledge, Pa., passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, in her residence. She was 91. She was born Feb. 16, 1917 in Chester, Mass., daughter of the late Joseph W. and Allvina Grover. Mrs. Kidd became a full-time resident of Lewes in 1978. She was a wonderful cook and baker of cookies. She was a volunteer at the Children's Beach House and a member of the Bowling 55 Club. She also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing cards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Kidd Sr. (1999); and her daughter-in-law, Susan C. Kidd. She is survived by her son, Raymond H. Kidd Jr., of Lewes; her daughter, Barbara Mitchell, of Milton; four grandchildren, Brian Kidd and his wife Erin, Richard Kidd, and Lindsey Kidd, all of Lewes, and Jayme Powell and her husband Troy, of North Port, Fla.; and two great-granddaughters, Kylei and Sky Powell, of North Port, Fla. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, with the Rev. Harry Hughes officiating. Friends may call beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lewes Presbyterian Church Restoration Fund, 133 Kings Hwy., Lewes, DE 19958; or to Compassionate Care Hospice of the Delmarva Peninsula, 31038 Country Gardens Blvd., Dagsboro, DE 19939.
