Schmidt, 36
Andrew Joseph Schmidt passed away suddenly on May 25, 2022.
Andrew was the Director of Operations at Banyan Treatment Center in Milford, Del. The last two years Andrew was devoted to building and expanding Banyan Delaware, starting with the facility's construction. Previously, he worked for Connections CSP as the Director of Sober Living. Andrew made a tremendous impact on the lives of those that work in the field, individuals struggling with substance abuse, and their families. He also inspired so many to do the same work that he found so important.
Andrew married the love of his life last October. She and his son were his entire world. Andrew took great pride in spending time with his family. His devotion to his family was always evident by his constant interest in their extra curricular activities, phone calls, visits and most of all his words. He always let his family know just how much he loved them. It was known by all who knew Andrew that his family was the most important thing in the world to him.
Andrew loved baseball, collecting sports memorabilia, and fishing. He looked forward to sharing these hobbies with his son and some day coaching his baseball teams.
Andrew's heart knew no limits. He had room for anyone that needed him. Andrew is survived and will forever be missed by his wife, Morgan D. (Chambers) Schmidt; his son, Arlo Joseph Schmidt; his parents, Cheryl (Arnott) and Albert J. Schmidt of Dover; three brothers, Albert Schmidt and his wife Beth of Dover, Alexander Schmidt and his wife Samantha of Dover and Adam Schmidt of Dover; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Ashlyn, Savannah, Aidan, August, Axel, Skylar, Ashton, and Talan.
There will be a viewing from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934. There will be a service at 12 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.
