EXMORE, Va. - Alwood Lee Shreaves Jr. of Exmore passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, in Shore Memorial Hospital. He was 57.
A native of Exmore, Mr. Shreaves was the son of Grace (Bloxom) Shreaves of Exmore and the late Alwood L. Shreaves Sr.
He was a retired distribution district manager for the Virginian Pilot, and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and Broadwater Masonic Lodge AF&AM.
Mr. Shreaves was an Eagle Scout and U.S. Coast Guard veteran.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three uncles, Dr. Edward W. Shreaves and his wife Carmen of Glendale, Calif., Sherwood Shreaves and his wife Mary of Melfa, and Daniel S. Bloxom of Smyrna, Del.; and numerous cousins.
Funeral services were conducted from the graveside of Belle Haven Cemetery with the Rev. Elizabeth Freund, the Rev. Tammy Estep and the Rev. Gregg Shreaves officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418; or a charity of choice.
