GREENWOOD - Alton C. Breeding passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Milford Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1926, the son of the late Edgar and Ella Breeding. Alton was a graduate of Greenwood High School, class of "1944". He was a farmer all of his life. Alton loved sports especially baseball. His favorite team was the Phillies. You could find him wherever a school game or youth league was taking place, especially watching his grandchildren play. For many years he was the scorekeeper for Greenwood and Woodbridge High School basketball games. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Russell. He is survived by his wife, Betty Walls Breeding of 69 years; two sons, Ronald and his wife Susan, and Robin and his wife Carol; six grandchildren, Chris and his wife Karen, Steve, Jason, Collin, Caroline, and Corbin and his wife Connie; five great-grandchildren, Abigail, Kiera, MacKenzie, Madden, and Manning; a brother, Winnie Breeding. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, 11 am at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 W. Market St, Greenwood, DE 19950. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm, and Thursday from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Hollywood Cemetery in Harrington.
