MAGNOLIA - Allan D. Husfelt, of Magnolia, died Monday, April 11, 2011, at home. He was 70. He was born June 3, 1940, in Wilmington, to the late Arthur G. Husfelt and Julia Flocco Husfelt. Mr. Husfelt was a veteran of the Vietnam War and had served in the United States Air Force for 22 years in aviation and electronics, stationed mainly in Alaska and in Dover retiring from Dover Air Force Base. After his retirement from the service in the mid 80's he had worked for Delaware Electric Signal until the late 90's. Mr. Husfelt enjoyed crossword puzzles, fishing, and hunting while in Alaska. He was a member of the Elks Lodge Post #1903 in Dover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Allan Husfelt, 1964; and his brother, Philip G. Husfelt, 1999. He is survived by his son, Richard A. Husfelt of Magnolia; daughters, Lynn Knight and her husband Ronnie of Dover, Gina Shaffer and her husband Dale of Denton, Md.; brothers, George and Robert Husfelt, both of Wilmington; sister, Barbara Frazer of Elkton, Md.; grandchildren, Eric Lynch, Carissa Lynch, Hannah Davidson, John J. Davidson, II, and Britney L. Husfelt; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday April 19, 2011, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contribution be made to American Diabetes Association, 100 West 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
