LEWES - Alice (Spoerl) Fleming of Lewes passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Lewes.
Mrs. Fleming was born June 26, 1921, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Carl W. and Kathryn C. (Douglas) Spoerl.
She moved 25 years ago to Sussex County from New Castle.
Mrs. Fleming was a member and volunteer at Harbor Lights.
She resided at Hulling Cove prior to moving to Harbor Healthcare in March.
Mrs. Fleming was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Fleming, in 1993; her brother, George Spoerl; and her sister, Rose Springer.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda M. Keller and her husband Jeff of Ellendale; her son, William Fleming of Florida; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marion Biddle of Middletown, Margaret Dorsey of Bear, Kathryn Rossi of Ellsmere, and Elizabeth Seery of Wilmington; and one brother, Paul "Buddy" Spoerl and his wife Bobbie of New Castle.
All arrangements are private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
