Alberta P. Savin Fears, 88

SUMMIT - Alberta P. Savin Fears of Summit, near Middletown, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in Heartland Hospice House, Newark. She was 88.

Mrs. Fears was born May 16, 1918, in New Castle, daughter of the late Clarence and Mary D. Pinder.

She worked at St. Andrew"s School as a seamstress for a number of years, retiring in 1980.

Mrs. Fears was a member of Summit Bridge United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Augustine Savin, in 1970; her second husband, John M. Fears in 1993; and a brother, Irvin Pinder.

She is survived by her children, Anne Knowles of Wilmington, Clarence and Fran Savin of Dover, Frances and George Baker of Townsend, Ethel and Lewis Edmonds of Carrollton, Va., and Phyllis and Ralph Schwalbauch of Bear; a sister, Mary Emma Martin of St. Augustine, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, Md.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Summit United Methodist Church, 554 Old Summit Bridge Road, Middletown, DE 19709.
