Coleman, 89 FELTON - William Lawrence Coleman, lovingly known as Pop - Pop, died Monday April 27, 2015 at The Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. His age was 89. Born in Jersey City, NJ, on Feb. 7, 1926, he was the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Foley) Coleman. After serving in Europe during WWII, he attended Seton Hall University and graduated Cum Laude. Bill worked his whole career at General Foods, starting in Hoboken, N.J. and later moving to Dover, when the company opened the new plant. He loved Dover and enjoyed keeping his landscape in pristine condition. Bill was an avid reader who enjoyed reading about history, especially books about the Civil War and World War II. Anyone who knew Bill, knew that the love of his life was his wife of 51 years, Veronica (Ronnie), whom he met at age 15 and was smitten at age 17. Bill was an active parishioner at Holy Cross who enjoyed attending daily Mass and saying the rosary. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ronnie; and his infant son, Billy. Bill is survived by his three daughters and their husbands, Alicia and Craig Parson, Marianne and Mark Letavish, Katie and Mick Soyka; and his five grandchildren, Elise, Tim, and Sean Letavish, and Michael and Ben Soyka. A Viewing will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Director, Inc., 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 12 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Condolences may be forwarded via www.ambruso.com
