FELTON - William John Cox II, 31, known to most as "Billy Jack" engaged to Carrie Butler of Magnolia tragically drowned Oct. 29, 2017 while at Port Mahon.
Born Mar. 23, 1986 in Philadelphia, Pa. He was the son of Margaret M. Peters and the late William "Bill" Cox.
He attended Caesar Rodney High for a short time before getting a job to take care of the bills and his twin brother "Lucky" after his father's passing. Billy Jack was proud to be a volunteer firefighter for more than ten years at the Little Creek Fire Company. He also worked several jobs throughout his adult years. He was a jack of all trades. He loved working with his hands and mastering different techniques with woodworking. Wishing wells were one of his favorite things to build. He also loved children, (after the diaper stage anyway) and they loved him so much which is a good thing considering the huge family he came from.
He was preceded in death by father, William J. Cox; twin brother, Joseph "Lucky" Cox; grandfathers, Joseph A. Cox and Leo J. Peters.
He is survived by his mother, Margret Peters; his second mother, Amy Cox-Frazier and her husband Kenneth; four sisters, Michelle Rambo and her husband Tom, Angel Cox-Sedliak and her husband Ken, Kimberly Cox-Rauscher and her husband Nick and Alicia Cox; grandmothers, Gertrude Cox and Mary Cosgrove; two uncles Ken Cox and his wife Darlene and Allen Cox; a goddaughter, Bobbie Jo Rauscher; his fiance, Carrie Butler and her family Jennifer, Daniel, Gary and Wendy.
