GALENA, MD - William Henry Sutton, 78 of Galena, Md., died Mar. 9, 2012 in the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. Mr. Sutton was born on Sept. 23, 1933 in Kennedyville, Md., son of the late John Carvel Sutton, Sr, and Elizabeth Lusby Sutton. He was a lifetime resident of Kent County living in Betterton and Chestertown, where he raised his family and most recently in Galena. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving from 1954 to 1957. He began his career working for Chestertown Electric Motor Shop and retired from General Motors as a power tool repairman. Bill was a member of Shrewsbury Parish Church and Frank M. Jarman American Legion Post 36. He was an avid Orioles fan, traveling to Florida for spring trainings and also a Ravens fan. Mr. Sutton was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Mary Lou Sutton in 2003; two brothers, John Carvel Sutton, Jr. and James Lusby Sutton; and two sisters, Frances Legg and Ann Jones. He is survived by his wife of six years, Karen Coleman Sutton; three children, Kathy Sue Sutton and her significant other Jerry Everett of Chestertown, Steve Sutton and his wife Ginnie of Lititz, Pa. and Bill Sutton and his partner, Roy Dahl of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Edward P. Sutton and Edgar Sutton both of Chestertown; a sister, Mary Elma Sutton of Crumpton; three grandchildren, Brandon Sutton and his wife Lauren of Concord, N.C., Mandy Sutton of Houston, Texas, and Eric Sutton of Concord, N.C.; and a great-grandson, Dylan Sutton of Concord, N.C. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, Mar. 13, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Shrewsbury Parish Church, Kennedyville, MD. Interment will follow services in Still Pond Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to Shrewsbury Parish Church, P.O. Box 187, Kennedyville, MD. 21645
