MAGNOLIA - William C. Stanley Jr., of Magnolia, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009, in the Milford Hospice Center, Milford. He was 51. Mr. Stanley was born Feb. 28, 1958, in Dover, the son of the late William C. Stanley Sr. and Anna Jones Stanley. He worked as a shift supervisor for the Pliant Corporation in Harrington before retiring due to disability. Mr. Stanley served in the United States Coast Guard. He enjoyed fishing and working in the yard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brookelyn Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Annette Baker Stanley; a son, Michael C. Stanley of Henderson, Nev.; a daughter, Brandi R. Stanley of Magnolia; a brother, John Cartanza of Dover; two sisters, Patti Sherman and Peggy McDowell, both of Dover; his father and mother-in-law, Donald and Emma Lawrence of Dover; his sisters-in-law, Debbie Bowers and her husband, Phil of Seaford, Lisa Lawrence of Smyrna, Laura Smith and her husband, John of Felton; his grandchildren, Zachary, Dillon, Angela, Kianna, Logan, Nathan and Alanna; his close friend, Bobby Wilson and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 1-2 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway Dover, DE 19901. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
