MILFORD - William C. Mintzer Sr., 63, of Milford died Monday, May 30, 2011 at Beebe Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. The owner of B&B Knives, Bill was an Air Force veteran and served our country in Vietnam. Bill also acquired his captain's license and enjoyed fishing. Beneath his tough exterior was a compassionate man, who was deeply devoted to his family and to the friends who had earned his loyalty and trust. Once you were part of Bill's life, there was nothing he wouldn't do to lend a hand, no distance he wouldn't travel if you were in need. Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Lou; son, William Mintzer Jr. and wife Joy of Newark; daughter, Crystal Webb and husband Stephen of Milford; daughter, Donna Robbins and husband Brian of Milford; and his grandchildren, Hope, Cody, Kaci, Gannon, Kenna, Peyton, Kaili, Colton and Presley. He was also devoted to and will be missed by his golden retriever, Luke. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard in 1967 and his mother, Alice in 1989. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John's Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford, on Saturday, June 4 at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. at church on Saturday prior to mass. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 100 West 10th St., Suite 1103, Wilmington, DE 19801. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home. www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
