HARTLY - William C. Mabrey, of Hartly, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. He was 73. He was born in Millington, Md., to the late John B. and Elizabeth C. Voshell Mabrey. William was a farm equipment mechanic for Hoober Equipment of Middletown. He served in the Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, bluegrass music, and working on farm equipment. William was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Mabrey; brothers, John (Jack) Mabrey and Milton Mabrey; and sister, Julia Faust. He is survived by his stepsons, Jerry and his wife Betty Jo Charles of Felton, Jim and his wife Elaine Charles of Smyrna, and Kevin and his wife Sharon Charles of Rising Sun; stepdaughters, Paula and her husband Ernie Morgan of Hartly, and Pam and her husband Mike Nichols of Felton; brother, Gilbert Mabrey of Clayton; sisters, Catherine Myers of Magnolia and Agnes Carrow of Smyrna; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 24 nieces and nephews. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Trader Funeral Home.
