SMYRNA - William Baldwin, of Smyrna, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital, Wilmington. He was 86. He was born in Baltimore, moved to DE in 1953, and was employed by Chrysler Corp., Newark, for 34 years, retiring in 1988. He loved gardening, and enjoyed giving vegetables to friends, family and neighbors. Mr. Baldwin also raised and sold pure-bred beagles, and was a field-trial trophy winner. He also was an antique tractor trophy winner. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Iris V. Baldwin; a daughter, Sylvia Baldwin; a grandson, Jeff Baldwin; and a brother, Joe Baldwin. Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 11, at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
