Wilbert S. Suggs

Bridgeville - Wilbert S. Suggs departed this life on Monday, July 16, 2018. Born in Hookerton, N.C., he was the son of the late Joe Jordan Suggs and Rosa Coward Suggs.
Mr. Suggs was a member of Grace-N-Mercy Ministries where he served as a good and faithful Deacon, member of the Steward Board, and Trustee.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by Coastal Supply Company. After retiring, he worked at Sam Yoder Trust Company.
He will be lovingly remembered by: his wife, Mattie Palmer Suggs; six sons, Wayde Cherry (Jean), Elmer R. Cherry (Delores), Howard Cherry, Calvin J. Suggs, Sr. (Starr), Danny L. Suggs (Lisa), and Courtland Suggs, Sr. (Nicole); two daughters, Betty L. Bryant (Cleveland) and Stephanie M. Showell (Steven); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mattie C. Suggs, second wife, Wilma A. Suggs, four sons, Neal C. Cherry, Wayne Cherry, Wilbert E. Suggs, and Carlton S. Suggs, a daughter, Mattie L. Miller, a brother, David Suggs, and a sister, Nevada Suggs.
Mr. Suggs will lie in repose on Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Lifeway Church of God, 7046 Seashore Highway, Bridgeville. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Bishop Joyce Mizelle will officiate. Interment will follow at Grace-N-Mercy Ministries Cemetery, Woodyard Road, Greenwood.
