BRIDGEVILLE - Virginia L. Downes, died Monday, March 9, 2009, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was 61. Virginia was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Jones) Bullock. She was a homemaker and enjoyed shopping, especially antique shopping and flower gardening. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Harrington. She is survived by her husband, Arthur T. Downes; two children, Dawn Towers and her husband Stanley of Seaford, and Thomas Downes of Seaford; two grandchildren, Thomas Downes Jr. and Kayla Downes; and brothers and sisters, Frederick Bullock Jr., Robert P. Bullock, James P. Bullock, Bonnie Bucheries, Wanda Hastings, Donna Startt, and Ruth Rankin. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after 12 noon. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.
