MILLSBORO - Virgil Monroe Clark, known to so many by his nickname as "Pluck" more than his given name passed away gently surrounded by his loving family, on Valentine's Day, 2015 with his loving wife of 47 years, Mayola at his side. Virgil was a tireless worker, who most of his life worked two jobs. He was currently employed at Watson Funeral Home where he served 52 years. He also previously worked for 21 years at Townsends as a Supervisor, and also retired from the Indian River School District while at the same time kept working for the funeral home. When something needed to be done, he just did it. He was a master of socializing, loved entertaining, and loved to cook. He cultivated thousands of friendships through the funeral home, and if something was going on, he knew from his contacts what it was, and what needed to be done. He was very much loved, and will be deeply missed. His mother Cornelia passed away in 2013, preceding him in death. A brother, Vernear Clark also preceded Pluck, in 1979. He is survived by his wife, Mayola Allen Clark; and his father, Albert Clark, of Salisbury, Md. He is also survived by his daughter, Victoria Mayola Clark, of Millsboro; and siblings, Vaughn Jarmon; Victoria Smith (Robert); Valerie Short (David); and Mary Bunch. Pluck is also survived by his beloved and treasured grandson, VaShawn Clark. A period of viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at the Watson Funeral Home from 3 P.M. till 6:00 P.M. that is informal, with the formal viewing and visitation being from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Friends may come anytime through those hours. A Prince Hall Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. A funeral service and Celebration of His Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. at St. John 2nd Baptist Church, Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015. Interment follows at Harmony UMC Cemetery.
