Viola B. Nicholas

Viola B. Nicholas, 85

DOVER - Viola B. Nicholas, of Dover, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, in Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 87. Mrs. Nicholas was born Oct. 26, 1923, in to the late Harry and Grace Schuyler Biddle. She and her late husband William "Nick" Nicholas owned and operated the Flagstone Restaurant on Loockerman Street in Dover from 1954 until 1968. Mrs. Nicholas was also a realtor with the George M. Records Co. for several years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Wilmington, and was a devoted grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nicholas was preceded in death by her husband in 1980. She is survived by her son, William Nicholas and his wife Marilyn "Bobbi" of Wyoming; and grandson, Alexander Nicholas of Newark. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4 in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
