Dover - Evangelist Missionary Vera Mae Bolden of Dover peacefully departed this life and went home to be with The Lord on Nov. 13, 2015. She was 68. Evangelist Bolden was a member of Bibleway Temple C.O.G.I.C. where she was a faithful member until the end. Down through the years, she served in many capacities at Bibleway, but most recently, she was the President of the Y.P.W.W. Parish, teacher for the Y.P.W.W. class, & Bible Class Teacher for the DE Jurisdiction of C.O.G.I.C. Reading, studying, and teaching The Word of God were Evangelist Bolden's passions. She never missed an opportunity to share her testimony about the Goodness of The Lord or to witness and bring others to Christ. Even in the midst of sickness – Evangelist Bolden remained very strong in her faith and often prayed for others. She took pride in being a "Living Testimony" for The Lord. She could often be heard saying "To God Be The Glory!" Evangelist Bolden was born on Dec. 1, 1946 in Hastings, Fla. and was the daughter of the late Ira Bell Ford and the late Lonnie Street. Later she relocated to Dover, Del. where she would eventually marry the late Deacon Joseph A. Bolden – they were married for 35 years. Evangelist Bolden was employed at Heinz Kraft (formerly known as General Foods) for 34 years, before retiring in 2001. Evangelist Bolden leaves to cherish her memory her children – T. Andrea Martin of Dover, John S. Martin (daughter-in-love-Pamela) stationed in Tobyhanna, Pa., Joetta Armstrong of Dover, & Joseph (Joey) Bolden of Dover; eight sisters – Antionette Lee of Orlando, Fla., Faye Street, Melissa Williams, Linda Mobley, Francine Solomon, Sylvia Williams (Henry) all of Douglas, Ga., Janasta Green of Jacksonville, Fla., Edith James (Ron) of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers – Lonnie Street Jr. of Douglas, Ga., Bobby Green of Jacksonville, Fla. Dwayne Dunbar of Valdosta, Ga., Lorenzo Cue of Hastings, Fla.; Sister-in-love – Margie Bolden of Pemberton, N.J.; Ten grandchildren – Lorie Henry, Brian Bryant, Joseph Gibbs, Evelyn Gibbs, Amber Martin, Ashleigh Summers, Aidanni Headley, Jasmine Martin, Private First Class Tyrail Friend (Ashley), & Quinton Friend. six great grandchildren; Aunts – Beatrice Jackson, Dorothy Anderson, Geneva Grant, Vera Green, & Roszena Chestnut; special cousins – Oscar & Eartha Street of Douglas, GA; one god-daughter – Monique Collier of Pa.; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was considered a daughter by these special mothers: Juanita Green who helped to raise her, the late Mother Ethel Warren, & Mother Melvina Browne. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 21, 2015 at Bibleway Temple Church of God In Christ, 56 South Kirkwood Street, Dover, Del. 19904. There will be a two hour viewing before the service.
