Timothy James Whitaker

SMYRNA - Timothy James Whitaker passed away at home on Saturday, June 30, 2018.
Tim was born Oct. 15, 1978 in Dover, the son of William A. Whitaker and Mary D. (West) Whitaker of Smyrna.
He was a graduate of Smyrna High School and worked at Kahunaville in Wilmington, and later as a manager of Kahunaville in Las Vegas in the Treasure Island Casino. Tim left Las Vegas for Ft Lauderdale where he worked at the Elbo Room for years, many with his brother, Bill. He returned to Smyrna to help with the family business. He also worked for Amazon.com in Middletown.
Tim enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, and cooking.
He was very successful as a junior wrestler, winning many tournaments in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland.
He was preceded in Death by his older brother Willam (Billy) R. Whitaker.
In addition to his parents, Tim is survived by his grandmother, Ruth P. Whitaker; his sister, Jacqueline (Jacki) R. Whitaker and her four daughters, Savannah, Addyson, Chloe, Brittany (Wes), and her three daughters, Ava, Emma and Gwen. He was also very close to his cousins and extended family.
A viewing will be offered by from 1:00-3:00p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00p.m.
