Dukes, 60 LINCOLN - Thomas James Dukes passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at home. Tom was born November 1, 1955 in Maryland. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. Tom enjoyed going and participating in the Jeep Races. He also enjoyed sitting in his garage with his friend, Reggie Jackson; and his dog, Coco; watching NASCAR. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Dukes; and brother, Frank Dukes. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Long Dukes of Lincoln; son, Thomas Dukes "Jr." of Laurel; daughters, April Wothers and her husband John of Woodside and Casey Long and her husband Levi of Dover and her children; stepsons, Jimmy Wood and his wife Kira and Donald Wood and his wife Cindi all of Dover; brother, Harry Dukes; nieces, Jessica and Alysha Dukes; grandchildren, Madisyn, Hailey, Colton, Kaidence and Jaelyn Wood and Emily Dukes. The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice for their caring and loving support through this difficult time. Memorial services will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904 to help defray funeral expenses. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
