HARRINGTON - Terry J. Smith, of Harrington, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 in the Milford Hospice Center. He was 57. He was born the son of the late Aaron and Mae Smith. Terry was a heavy construction equipment mechanic for over 30 years. He also loved working and restoring old cars. He could be found oftentimes working on farm machinery for local farmers until the wee hours of the morning. If anything mechanical needed to be worked on, all you had to do was call Terry. From an early age, Terry spent a lot of his spare time in the saddle. He owned and rode horses until the present day, and participated in cattle team roping. Terry will be remembered as a very high energy person, someone who could not sit still for very long. He spent much of his time helping others and working hard. Terry would do anything for anybody. He was also very loyal to his family. Terry came from an extremely tight knit family. He lost his father at a young age bringing him and his siblings together into a tight bond which still exists today. His faith and commitment to his God was strong and his wife truly felt that he was God's gift to her. He will be truly missed. Terry was preceded in death by a sister, Effie Smith.
