Terry Dean Gillette

FELTON - Terry Dean Gillette of Felton, formerly of Easton, Conn. died Tuesday April 22, 2014 in his home. He was 75. Terry was born July 9, 1938 in Bridgeport, Conn. to the late George S. and Lorraine Seeley Gillette. He served on the Monroe, Conn. Police Force, retiring after 35 years in 1999, as a Lieutenant. Terry was a graduate of the FBI National Academy. After moving to Felton, he worked for the Camden Police Department as dispatcher for ten years, and most recently for Justice of the Peace Court #16 as a Constable. He was a 32nd degree Mason, past Master and Secretary of Washington Lodge #19, in Monroe, Conn., and current Secretary of Union Lodge #7 in Dover. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Irene Gallant Gillette of Felton; daughter, Cynthia Karr and husband Bryan of Monroe, Conn.; son, Mark Gillette of Asonia, Conn.; three stepdaughters, Bonnie Beardsly and husband Gregory of Monroe, Conn., Diane Mucherino of Bethlehem, Conn. and Janine Valenti and husband John of Felton; three stepsons, Scott Mucherino and wife Kim of Oxford, Conn., Vincent Alascia and wife Jamie of Goodyear, Ariz., and William Alascia of Shelton, Conn.; brother, Gregory (Grogg) Gillette and wife Wendy of Columbia, S.C.; sister, Pamela Visokay and husband Walter of Columbia, S.C.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral and Masonic services will be held 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in Long Hill Cemetery, Trumbull, Conn. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to Union Lodge #7, Scholarship Fund, 1478 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover, DE 19904. Letters of condolence may be sent and the guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
