Susan Jane (Petry) Ledger passed away June 14, 2025.
She came into this world on 5/6/40, daughter of Clinton Petry and Florence Petry. She is preceded in death by her parents and older sister, who died when she was 8 years old.
She married The Rev. Ike F. Ledger, Sept 1, 1962, who preceded her in death on March 17, 2017.
She was mother of Susan Alice Ledger Ness, Kristen A. Ledger, and foster mother to Linda Shook.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Her husband, Rev. Ike Ledger, served several churches in the Salisbury area. Zion UMC in Salisbury and Jerusalem UMC in Parsonsburg, Snethen UMC, Emmanuel UMC and Mt Pleasant in Mardela Springs.
A celebration of her life took place on Sunday, July 13, 3pm at the St. John’s United Methodist Church, 312 East Main Street, Fruitland, MD. The service was officiated by Pastor Shannon Harris, Rev. Leonard Wheatley and Rev. Lance Ness.
