Steven A. Downs

GEORGETOWN – Steven A. Downs passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at Beebe Medical Center. Steven was born in Milford, son of Harold C. Downs, of Georgetown, and the late Iva P. (Brasure) Downs. Steven was owner and operator of Downs Service Center in Georgetown. He was an avid racing fan. He especially loved spending time with his family, building racing engines and dirt track racing with his sons. Several years ago he served a vice president of the Lower Sussex Go-Kart Club. In addition to his mother, Steven is preceded in death by a sister, Janice Downs. In addition to his father, he is survived by three children, Andy Downs, Steven Downs, Branden Morgan; his companion, Lori Morgan; and her children, Paden, Wyatt, Charity and Ethan Truitt, all of Georgetown; three sisters, Shirley Prettyman, of Delmar, Kathy Downs, of Laurel and Lisa Walls, of Georgetown; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2016 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, with visitation after 12 noon. Burial will be in St. John's UMC Cemetery.
