Shirley E. Hatten

HARRINGTON - Shirley E. Hatten passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016 at Milford Memorial Hospital. Shirley was born Oct. 4, 1951 in Itmann, W.Va.; the daughter of the late Courtland and Grace Mullins Brumfield. She had worked at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood as a dietician aide. Shirley enjoyed cooking, baking, and doing flower arrangements. She loved to spend time with her family especially the grandchildren and her great granddaughter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hatten, Sr.; and five brothers. She is survived by a son, John Hatten, Jr., and his wife, Brandy, of Harrington; a daughter, Nancy Hastings, and her companion, Raymond Norton, of Greenwood; five grandchildren, Sheri, Brandon, Michael, John, III, and Gage; a great-granddaughter, Veronica; two sisters, Shelby Pelfrey, of Columbus, Ohio, and Juanita Green, of Elkton, Md.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market Street, Greenwood, DE, 19950. Friends may call one hour prior to service. Burial will be held at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood.
