Shirley A. Carpenter, 71
LEWES - Shirley A. Carpenter of Lewes, formerly of Chester, Pa., died Sunday, April 8, 2007, in her home. She was 71.
Mrs. Carpenter was born in Chester, daughter of the late Leroy and Ruth (Bailey) Mower.
She was a member of the Milton Senior Citizens and loved playing bingo, bowling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Danyelle Riberio.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Edward J. Carpenter; four children and their spouses, Donna and John White, Edward III and Michelle Carpenter, all of Newark, John and Denise Carpenter of Upland, Pa., Shirley and Jeffrey Riberio of Chester; two sisters, Joan Lanio of Collingdale, Pa., Barbara Urban of Ridley Park, Pa.; and a brother, Leroy Mower of Folcroft, Pa.; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call two hours earlier.
