DOVER, Del. - Sharon W. Booth departed this earth on January 23, 2022 surrounded by those she loved the most.
Born in Nashville, Tenn. on July 25, 1948 to Arville Williams and Della Phillips Williams, Sharon was known for her laughter and humor. Della would later marry Johnnie C. Johnson who was affectionately known as "Daddy" to Sharon for her entire life. After meeting and marrying the love of her life, Fred Booth in 1973, the couple would eventually make Dover, Del. their lifelong home. It was here that they welcomed their daughter Shannon to the world. Sharon was a graduate of Delaware State University (B.S.) and Wilmington University (M.Ed.). She served as a Special Education teacher in the Capital School District for nearly 30 years and was often heard using her musical talents to play at various school wide functions. Throughout her time in Dover, she served as Choir Directors and Ministers of Music at Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Union Baptist Church, Mt. Zion AME Church and Bethel AME Church. She was also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, the Sylvia Olden Lee Music Guild and the Red Hatters.
She leaves to cherish her husband, Fred Booth Jr.; her mother, Della P. Morton; her daughter, Shannon Johnson (Donte'); granddaughters, Selah and Sydney Johnson; and a host of family and friends.
