Sarah Kauffman, 89

DOVER - Sarah Kauffman, of Dover, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, in Christiana Medical Center. She was 89. Mrs. Kauffman was born Jan. 14, 1919, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Joseph and Hanna Dubin. She was a homemaker and enjoyed needle point, crocheting, and Bingo. Mrs. Kauffman was preceded in death by her husband, Isidor Kauffman in 1982 and her companion Emmanuel Weiss in 2002. She is survived by her son, Robert Kauffman and his wife Rebecca of Camden; two daughters, Marlene Laprocido and her husband Frank of Las Vegas, Nev., and Shelby Keller and her husband Denne of Marlton, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Ann Rushing and her husband Gerry, Debra Laprocido, Adele Minor and her husband Pat, Kelly Laprocido, Robert Keller, Merrik Keller and his wife Wendy, Scott Kauffman, Michael Gleasner Jr. and his companion Ashley Baynard; 10 great-grandchildren, Stephanie O'Brien and her husband Patrick, Paul Weber and his wife Melissa, Amber, Joshua, Allie, Erica Minor, Brandon Arslanian, Bryce, Chase Keller and Christopher Gleasner, and one great-great-grandchild, Elise O'Brien. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
