
Milford - Sara Phyllis B. Robinson, daughter of the late John and Lydia Bennett of Milford passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in her home with her family at her bedside.
Phyllis was a graduate of Milford High School and started her working career as a telephone operator for then Bell Telephone Company. Later she and her late husband, John C. "Toady" Hall owned and operated a small grocery store on SE Front Street, Milford until it closed.
She was an accomplished seamstress for Derrickson's Men Store doing alterations and sewing for others. She was artistic and creative with her sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and china painting. Phyllis enjoyed playing bridge, traveling on Farm Bureau trips, going to the beach in her younger years, taking vacation trips with her family, and having conversations with family and friends on any topic. She was a people person who enjoyed life.
Phyllis was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Sophisticated Red Hat Ladies, The First Friday Lunch Bunch, Milford Senior Center and the former Shawnee Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John C. "Toady" Hall; her second husband, Norval R. "Robbie" Robinson; her sister, Gladys Bennett; and her nephew, Tom Bennett.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Jack (Ellen) Hall; her daughter, Connie (Keith) Pusey; six grandchildren, Marc (Terri) Bower, Matt Bower, Jason (Nicole) Hall, JoAnn (Matt) Purnell, Monica (Jim) Phillips, and Chuck Speake; ten great-grandchildren, Amber, Chase and Hayden Bower, Hailey and Caleb Hall, Meredeth Rhoades, Lexus and Alyssa Purnell and Collin and Maddie Bower; also her niece, Norma Jean Jones, who she was extremely close. We want to express our deep gratitude to her caregivers, Kellie Walters and Lisa Leonzio and to Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful care given to her in her final days.
Services will be held in Christ Episcopal Church, Milford on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 with visitation from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a service at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
