MILFORD - Sandra J. Ruark, 70, of Milford, died, Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cambridge, Md., the daughter of the late James and Elsie Fairbanks. She worked as a Social Worker for Children and Families First in Georgetown, prior to retirement. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two children, Ronald and Suzanne Smith; her brother, James Fairbanks, Jr. She loved gardening, cooking and reading. She was a huge animal lover, never had to worry about strays not having a place to live. She would give all of them a home. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Mark Ruark; three children, Crystal Mehrenberg and husband Dennis, Kenneth Smith and Jennifer Ruark; two step children, Honie Cadel and Keith Ruark. Also, one sister, Anna Lauck; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. for a viewing. Interment will be at Milford Community Cemetery. In lieu of flower the family request donations to the Delaware Hospice 100 Patriots Way, Milford, Delaware, 19963.
