Sandra H. Jones departed this life on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
Sandra was born January 9, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Marguerite Green Carson Huson and Stewart Harrison Huson. Known to all as Sandy, she moved from Philadelphia to Lynn, Mass., Detroit, Mich. and finally Cincinnati (Blue Ash), Ohio, where she spent her early adulthood. She had worked at General Electric while attending college. Many weekends were spent water skiing on the Ohio River, with her brother, sister and kids. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, shortly after she found work as a teacher in Delaware and moved to Dover, retiring in 2000. Sandy went on to receive her Master's from the University of Delaware. She loved to cook and share meals with family and friends. She was an avid sportsman playing tennis, bowling, pool, and golf before and after her retirement. Sandy was a lifelong card player, with a multitude of friends. Her appetite for learning and history never waivered. She was a member of the Maple Dale and Wild Quail Country Clubs.
Sandy is survived by sister, Susan Camp and husband John; brother, Skip Huson and wife Linda; daughters, Liz Morris and Cathy Kyle and her husband David; grandchildren, Alec Dill and wife Jennifer, Jamie Dill and wife Davi, and Ian Kyle; great grandchildren, Aidan, Kenzie and Brianna Dill.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday evening. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.
