NEWARK - Ruth M. (Donovan) Patton of Newark died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, in Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark. She was 75.

Mrs. Patton was born in Oak Grove, near Seaford, daughter of the late Ed and Myrtle (Willen) Donovan.

She had been employed in food services by the University of Delaware, Newark.

Mrs. Patton was very fond of her cat, Roxie, her cockatiel, Pogo, and her parrot, Marcie. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Patton, in 1991.

She is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Donald E. and Shirley Patton of Newark; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Stanley and Katherine Donovan, and Medford and Edna Donovan, all of Seaford; two grandchildren, Vincent Patton and Robin Kelley; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Samantha, Chelsea and Brody.

Friends may call from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bridgeville Cemetery. The Rev. Dale Brown will officiate.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Newark Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 475 Auxiliary, 100 Veterans Drive, Newark, DE 19711; or to Newark Moose Lodge 630, 2004 Telegraph Road, Wilmington, DE 19808-5208'.
