Ruth Ivy Gooden Will

Ruth Ivy Gooden Will, 94

WYOMING - Ruth Ivy Gooden Will, of Wyoming, passed away Monday, June 9, 2008, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 94.

She was born on Jan. 22, 1914, in Willow Grove, daughter of the late Alexander Hughes and Daisy (Moore) Gooden.

Ruth attended Frazier School near Henderson, Md.

She retired from Playtex after working 29 years as supervisor of the cafeteria.

Ruth loved to play cards with friends and family. She enjoyed cooking and serving up some of her favorite recipes like peanut butter fudge and chicken salad.

She was a member of Wyoming United Methodist Church.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Robert J. Will Jr. and his wife Pat of Sanford, N.C., and William A. Will and his wife Brenda of Wyoming; a brother, Daniel Gooden of Wyoming; six grandchildren, Robert J. "RJ" Will III of Wilson, N.C., Lisa A. Comfort of Charlotte Hall, Md., Jeff Will of Monroe, N.C., Monica Slater of Wyoming, Jamie Deis of Hermitage, Tenn., and Patrick Will of Raleigh, N.C.; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, where friends may call one hour before services.

Burial will follow the service.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Wyoming United Methodist Church Building Fund, 112 Broad St., Wyoming, DE 19934; or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
