Ruth Isabel Attix Jarman

Ruth Isabel Attix Jarman, 87 DOVER - Ruth Isabel Attix Jarman, age 87, of Dover, passed away on Nov. 18, 2009, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary Attix. She was a lifelong resident of Delaware and retired from International Playtex, Dover. She enjoyed her gardening, planting and tending to her flowers, canning, sewing, plastic canvas needlepoint, and cleaning. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Paul Moore; her second husband, Walter F. Jarman; a son, Richard J. Moore, Sr.; and grandson, Lenney Paul Moore. She is survived by five children, Shirley Kunkel and her husband Doug of Dover, who cared for her the past five years, Nancy Morris and her husband Richard of Wilmington, Del., Doris Ann Wirt and her husband Bill of Wilmington, N.C., Linda Pauley and her husband Cody of Liberty Hill, Texas, and Karen Skaggs and her husband Ernie of Smyrna. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by four sisters, Emily Woodall and her husband Jesse, Thelma Pryor, Clara Marie Gravatt, Mary Joan Pratt and her husband Wright; and four brothers, William and his wife Ellen, Gilbert and his wife Janet, Donald and his wife Gloria, and Robert and his wife Carol Attix. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22. Funeral service will be held at noon, Monday, Nov. 23, with visitation from 11 a.m. until noon, all at Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main Street, Smyrna. Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901, in memory of Ruth Isabel Jarman.
