Ruth A. Hicks

HARRINGTON - Ruth A. Hicks, of Harrington, passed away on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 71. She was born in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and Louise Simpson. She was a homemaker. Her hobbies included playing Bingo and going to Elvis Concerts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ballard R. Hicks Sr.; and her three children, Ballard R. Hicks Jr., Daniel Lee Hicks, and Michael Anthony Hicks. She is survived by her children, Sheila Brooks and her husband Wayne of New Castle, Tina Barlow and her husband Nicholas of Newark, Charles Hicks and his wife Dina of Houston, William Hicks of Felton and Delta Smith and her husband Andy of Felton; fiancé', Leroy Clayville, several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call Friday after noon. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
