FELTON - Ruby L. Clendaniel, 85, of Felton, left the loving care of her family to go home to be with Jesus on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011. She was born in Barboursville, Va., the daughter of the late William Booten and Jessie Pearl Rhor Yowell. Mrs. Clendaniel moved to Dover at the age of 16 to help care for her young nieces and nephews and later worked at the powder plant in Milford until her marriage to Harry Frank Clendaniel in 1945. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Henderson, Md., for over 50 years where she was active in her earlier years. Mrs. Clendaniel was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her only sister, Virginia and her husband, Milton Clendaniel who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Theodore (Pete), John and Willie Yowell. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harry Frank Clendaniel; her sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Sheila Clendaniel of Dover, Ken and Margie Clendaniel of Felton, Mark and Brenda Clendaniel of Chillicothe Ohio, Timothy Clendaniel of Felton, and Betty Clendaniel of Greensboro, Md.; nine grandchildren, Donald Lee Jr., Dwayne, Shawn, Ken Jr., Crystal, Christopher, Matthew, Amanda, Stephanie; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her niece Debbie Montz and her husband Ed of Douglassville, Pa. Services will be at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Henderson, Md., Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at noon with visitation starting at 11 a.m. Arrangements made by Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro, Md. Burial will be private. Donations may be made in her memory to Compassionate Care of DE, 702B Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805.
