Ruby 'Jean' Harrison, 77 ELLENDALE - Ruby "Jean" Harrison, 77, of Ellendale, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2010, at the home of her daughter, in Rehoboth Beach, where she had resided for several months. Born in Red Jacket, W.Va., July 3, 1932, she was the daughter of Jim and Cora (Anderson) Pugh. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Chester Harrison, in January of this year. Retired from L.D. Caulk Co. in Milford, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed reading and creative writing. Her love of books was evident in her vast collection of rare and antique books. She spent many hours researching their history and authors, and was an expert at finding answers to most any question using her many reference books. She was an avid scrabble player, always looking for a challenging game. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and five siblings. She is survived by her children, Deborah Steele and husband Steve, Chuck Harrison and wife Debra, Donna Russell and husband Leonard, and Denise Kirn and husband Stan; six granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Stanley Harrison; a nephew, Richard Dickerson and wife Karen; and other members of her sibling's families. With respect for Jean's wishes, there will be no service. Memorial contributions or remembrances can be made to Ellendale Vol. Fire Co. where her husband was a lifetime member. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
