Rose A. Rolle, 88

DOVER - Rose A. Rolle of Dover died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 88.

Mrs. Rolle was born Nov. 26, 1919, at home in Cutchogue, Long Island, N.Y., to the late Stephen Ficner and Fannie (Zuhoski) Ficner.

She was a homemaker and helpmate to her husband on the family farm and enjoyed being with her great-grandchildren and playing bingo and having morning coffee at her daughter's home.

Mrs. Rolle was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Stanley J. Rolle Sr., in June 1995; two brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by her son, Stan Rolle and his wife Nancy of Nokomis, Fla.; her daughter, Linda Bolander and her husband Daniel of Dover; her brother, Frank Ficner of Mattituck, Long Island, N.Y.; her sister, Dorothy Chituk of Cutchogue; her sister-in-law, Loretta Ficner of Leipsic; five grandchildren, Jason Rolle, Chris Bolander, Shannon Cahall, Laura Fetzer and Kelsy Bolander; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.

Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Little Creek Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 327, Little Creek, DE 19961.
