Ronald "Wayne" Parker, 66

BRIDGEVILLE - Ronald "Wayne" Parker of Bridgeville, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 66.

Mr. Parker was born Dec. 9, 1939, in Milford, son of the late Roland and Lillie Baker Parker.

He served in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1983 after 26 years of service. After his retirement he lived in Florida then moved to Bridgeville in 1998.

He was affiliated with Cambridge University in England, doing research on Stonehenge. He was a collector of African style and world art. He was a photography buff, shooting pictures all over the world as a traveler.

Mr. Parker was a member of St. Paul"s Episcopal Church in Georgetown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Parker; and a nephew, Kim Parker.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Michelle and Joe Mattingly and Sonja Fehlberg, all of Louisville, Ky.; three grandchildren, Sara, David, and Shelby; and two nieces Christina and Dana.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul"s Episcopal Church, corner of Pine and Academy streets, Georgetown.

Burial will be private.

Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
