Ronald Minner Jarrell

SMYRNA - Ronald Minner Jarrell passed away Sat., Oct. 5, 2013 in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Ron was born in Wilmington, Del. to the late Lawrence and Eleanor(Fleming) Jarrell. He was employed by Diamond State Telephone then Bell Atlantic for over 35 years, before retiring in 1991. Ron was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Camden-Wyoming Lions Club. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church, of Dover, where along with his wife, Elaine, served as co-ordinators of the food pantry at the church for many years. In addition, Ron also served on various committees at the church. Ron was a graduate of C.R. High School, Class of 1956; and enjoyed woodworking and playing golf. He also served proudly in the United States Air Force. Ron is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elaine(Kinsey) Jarrell; their three children, Brian Clark Jarrell and his wife, June of Smyrna; Debra Lynn Boch and her husband, John of Folcroft, Pa., Eric Jarrell and his wife, Maria of Royersford, Pa.; his siblings, Phyllis Counterman and her husband, John of Magnolia; Alice Murray and her husband, Michael of Magnolia; Eleanor Marine and her husband, Floyd of Sun City, Ariz.; Raymond Jarrell and his wife, Linda of Magnolia, and Larry Jarrell and his wife, April of Felton; and his grandchildren, Christy, Jennifer, Ellie, and Jason. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Tues., Oct. 8, 2013, in the First Baptist Church of Dover, 301 Walker Road, Dover; where family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901 or the First Baptist Church of Dover, 301 Walker Road, Dover, DE 19904.
