MAGNOLIA - Ronald J. Boyd, of Magnolia, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, in Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. He was 48. He was born Aug. 28, 1960, in Nyack, N.Y., and was the son of Juanita Boyd of Dover and the late William Boyd. A native of Nyack, N.Y., and a graduate of Nyack High School and The Technical Career Institute, New York City. He was an engineer at Bell Laboratory/Lucent Technology in New Jersey for 20 years until he retired. He enjoyed music and basketball. He is preceded in death by his father, William Boyd. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife. Stephanie Boyd; two daughters, Briana Boyd and Kayla Boyd all of Magnolia; his mother, Juanita Boyd; his brother, Edwin Boyd and wife Monica of Albuquerque, N.M.; his paternal grandmother, Pauline Boyd of Danville, Va.; his mother-in-law, Ernestine Holden; father-in-law, William Holden Jr.; two brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; several nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; a devoted caretaker, Flossie Fulton, and a host of other relative and friends. Funeral services will be held noon Thursday at Calvary Assembly of God, Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may view two hours prior. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Delaware Chapter, Two Mill Road Suite 106 Wilmington, DE 19806. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
