Ronald E. Thomson

HARRINGTON - Ronald E. Thomson, of Harrington, passed away suddenly on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 in Milford Memorial Hospital. Mr. Thomson was born in Lowell, Mass., the son of the late Wallace S. and Muriel (Stokum) Thomson. Ronald was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam. He worked as a Produce Manager for several years at Safeway in Dover until retiring in 1997. He was a supporter of the Lake Forest Athletic Program, an avid sports fan, he enjoyed NASCAR and loved working in his yard. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Julie (McGuire) Thomson; one son, Brian W. Thomson and his wife Windy, of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Destiny Ray Thomson and Brian W. Thomson, Jr.; one uncle, Edward Stokum and his wife Sue, of Haverhill, Mass.; and his cousin, Penny. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce Street, Harrington where friends may call from 12 - 1 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Lake Forest Athletic Program, 5407 Killens Pond Road, Felton, DE 19943.
