Robert M. Wilkison

DOVER - Robert "Bob" M. Wilkison, Sr. passed away July 26, 2016, at Kent General Hospital. He was 78. Mr. Wilkison was born July 12, 1938 in Dover, to the late Murrel Wilkison and Ethel Marker Wilkison. He retired in 1982 after 25 years, from the State of Delaware in the Transportation Department. After his retirement he started his own striping business, Wilkison's Marking Service, Inc. in Dover, as well as having Bob's Christmas Tree's in Dover. Mr. Wilkison was a member of the Edgehill Community Church of God, where he was very involved and instrumental in taking care of the church. He was a member of a bowling league for 30+ years, enjoy gardening and everything about trains along with spending time with his grandchildren and great grandkids. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James Wilkison; and sister, Ruth Wooters. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marie Coblentz Wilkison of Dover; sons, Robert M. Wilkison, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Leesburg, Va., daughter, Faye Adcox and her husband Richard of Wyoming; stepchildren, Nelson Coblentz of Felton, Paul Coblentz of Hartly, James Waters at home, Lucy Legates of Felton and Lovina Coblentz of Magnolia; sister, Margaret Pallan of Felton; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer society, 92 Reads Way #205, New Castle, DE 19720, the American Heart Association, Delaware, 200 Continental St., Suite #101., Newark, DE 19713, or Edgehill Community Church of God, 702 Maple Parkway, Dover, DE 19901.
