SMYRNA - Robert Lee Moore Sr., 69, of Smyrna, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. Born on July 27, 1941, he was the son of the late Presley E. Moore, Sr. and Margaret Carrow Moore. After attending school in Smyrna, Bobby joined the Delaware National Guard. On Nov. 25, 1961, he married his childhood sweetheart Jacqueline King Roe. He was a career farmer, first starting out with dairy cows with his father and brothers, and then moving on to grain farming with his son. Bobby owned and operated Moore's Picking House, picking ducks and geese for the last 35 years. He enjoyed crabbing and hunting with his son and grandson, and especially loved his hunting trips to Pennsylvania and Canada. He loved a great card game in the morning with his friends, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bobby was predeceased by his son, Keith Douglas Moore in 1986; and later his sister Ruthann Burchard. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jacqueline R. Moore; his son, Robert L. Moore, Jr. and his wife Amy; grandchildren, Robert Douglas Moore and Kristen Elizabeth Moore; his brothers Presley E. Moore, Jr. and his wife Beronica, and William H. Moore; and sister, Patricia Stachecki and her husband Raymond, all of Smyrna. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, W. Michael Roe of Morriston; several nieces and nephews, and many close and dear friends, especially Salty Walt and Sam, his "little buddy." A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, in Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by a service in celebration of Bobby's life at noon. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
